I thought it was the perfect morning, she made me coffee and surprised me with a present. I opened it and it was a journal, but not my usual kind. This one had a timer set for each day, no words just numbers. I looked at the timer and I had to put in every detail for my wife on how I felt about her that day.
I didn't have time to put them all in; she would kill me if she thought I wasn't being honest so I wrote in what mattered most to her, how much I loved her. She came down stairs with a smile on her face, "Good morning." The smile was there but something wasn't right, she gave me coffee but didn't make one for herself. Her eyes were fixed to the counter where the journal lay open with those numbers staring back at her.
